Scope a project

Discuss a data source

Explore a scoped license for records you own or are authorized to represent. Start with the source, its potential use and its limits.

Introduce a source

Define what could be licensed

Describe the record types, time period, approximate volume and linked files. Identify the rights holder, who can authorize use and any exclusions.

A proposed license defines the record subset, preparation work, permitted buyers and uses, and exclusions. Ownership, royalties where applicable, reuse, exclusivity and retention are negotiated explicitly.
